LEDUC, ALBERTA – Habitat for Humanity Edmonton proudly marked the official opening of its newest ReStore location in Leduc with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday, May 29. The special event was attended by local dignitaries and community partners, including Leduc City Councillor Beverly Beckett, who did the honours of cutting the ribbon alongside Habitat Edmonton’s President and CEO, Dr. Ann-Marie Reddy, and Board Chair, Andy England.

This milestone marks Habitat Edmonton’s fifth ReStore location, expanding its network of donation-driven retail stores that directly support the organization’s mission to make affordable homeownership possible for more individuals and families across northern Alberta.

While the formal ceremony was held on Thursday, the organization is inviting the public to celebrate with them during a grand opening event on Saturday, May 31, at the Leduc ReStore located at 222–3601 82 Avenue. All in-store shoppers that day will receive 20% off their purchase as a thank-you for welcoming ReStore into the community.

“Habitat for Humanity is committed to driving meaningful improvements in housing outcomes that directly impact City of Leduc residents,” said Dr. Ann-Marie Reddy. “We are deeply grateful for the tremendous support this community has shown. Our greatest strength lies in the people and organizations who choose to volunteer, donate, and shop at their local ReStore. These ReStore operations are vital to our mission of creating lasting change through more affordable and sustainable homes. When you shop or donate at the Leduc ReStore, you are helping Habitat for Humanity plan for the future and build long-term, sustainable solutions for affordable homeownership in the City of Leduc.”

“The City of Leduc is looking forward to the grand opening of the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Leduc,” said Mayor Bob Young. “I know the citizens of Leduc will be very supportive of the ReStore and all the great work Habitat for Humanity does in Leduc and the Edmonton Region.”

Proceeds from Habitat ReStores support the full scope of Habitat Edmonton’s operations — from building homes to delivering essential services for future homeowners. As part of its continued work in the region, Habitat Edmonton will soon begin construction on four new condominiums in Leduc, in partnership with TLA Developments.
