Host an Event

Host an event to benefit Habitat! Grab your friends, family, or coworkers and throw a party, a tournament, or plan a unique event to raise funds to support our build projects.

When you host an event, you’re raising both money and awareness about the need for affordable homeownership in your community and how we can provide a solution together.

What type of events can you do? Here are a few ideas that may inspire you:

• A-thons: the options are endless – just add “-a-thon” to the end of any of these words: walk, skip, bike, dance, knit, swim, jam (guitar), bowl, skate, aerobics (etc).
• Galas: black-tie dinner, concert, garden party, dinner party, art show, theatre performance, beach party, boat cruise, celebrity luncheon, talent show, etc.
• Sporting events or tournaments: baseball, football, golf, tennis, fishing derby, pool/billiards, darts, etc.
• Other ideas: bake sales, nickel/dime/quarter/loonie/twoonie drive, car/pet wash, arts & crafts show, dress down (or up) for work days, raise-a-set-amount-to-make-your-boss-do-something day (e.g. make lunch for the team or shave a head, etc).
