On Thursday, April 27, we celebrated our generous supporters and volunteers! Over 150 attendees gathered at our ReStore South, where we celebrated their support with food, speeches, and awards.
2022 numbers
A total of 3,050 ReStore donations were accepted from over 2,000 donors. Also at ReStore, 695 volunteers offered the gift of their time, and 240 people volunteered at build sites, offices, events and more. In total, volunteers at Habitat Edmonton volunteered 38,290 hours. We are so grateful for the time these volunteers took to help families in their community.

20 Years of Volunteer Service
David Wangler has volunteered for Habitat Edmonton for 20 years. Often found on build sites, David is a crew-leader and is well-known for his friendly manner.
Ziegler ReStore Award of Excellence
Reno Laseur has volunteered at ReStore Sherwood Park since it’s opening in 2020. He volunteers regularly and is known for getting things done. Reno volunteered over 780 hours in 2022.
Neufeld Outstanding Volunteer Award
Chris Bruce, former board chair of Habitat Edmonton, has served our organization since 2016. We are grateful for his support over the years.
Habitat Canada’s National Volunteer Week Winner
Hank Fast has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for over 30 years. He was a board member when we were first founded in 1991, and since then has volunteered all over our organization. Hank is well known for building beautiful birdhouses from ReStore items, which he then donates back to ReStore. Read more about hank here.
