ReStore North can be found near the intersection of Yellowhead Trail at 82 Street, just south of Plaza 82, and it’s more than a store. This location also houses Habitat for Humanity Edmonton’s head office, which makes it the anchor of everything Habitat does across the region.
The store draws shoppers from across north Edmonton: Delton, Elmwood Park, Calder, Kensington, Griesbach, Northgate, Beverly, Clareview and Castle Downs, as well as anyone travelling the Yellowhead corridor.
At 16,000 square feet with an additional 4,000-square-foot yard, ReStore North has the room to carry full kitchen sets and lumber alongside smaller everyday finds. Longtime North Edmonton shoppers may recognize the building; it was a Sport Chek for several years before it became a ReStore.
Every purchase here does two things at once. It gives quality new and used furniture, cabinetry, tools and building materials a second life, and it funds Habitat for Humanity Edmonton’s work creating affordable homeownership opportunities for local individuals and families. Shoppers regularly tell us they initially come for the deals and return once they find out about how their purchases support the community.
ReStore North is open seven days a week, including Sundays, from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., one of the few secondhand stores in north Edmonton open on a Sunday afternoon.
Inventory turns over constantly. On any given visit, you might find power tools, interior and exterior doors, kitchen cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, lighting, tile and flooring, window coverings, appliances, antique and modern furniture, housewares and décor. Building materials are the biggest draw at this location, followed by general merchandise, furniture and appliances. Because everything is either donated or a palette purchase, no two visits look alike. Our regulars stop in weekly to see what new finds have been added to the store.
The team here is used to helping shoppers track down what they need and load heavy or awkward pieces into a vehicle. There is plenty of parking in our lot, and dedicated loading areas at the front of the store make it easy to get a large piece into a vehicle.
