Habitat Edmonton’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic

(last updated: November 22, 2021)

As Habitat Edmonton must take every reasonable precaution to protect the health and safety of our employees, volunteers and patrons, we have implemented a COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.

Effective January 1, 2022 all employees, volunteers, partner families and contractors (“Covered Individuals”) accessing sites or offices will require either have:

·       Government issued Proof of Full Vaccination*, or

·       A record of a negative COVID test valid within 72 hours.

*A Covered Individual is considered fully vaccinated when 14 days have passed since they received all doses of a vaccine recommended or required to produce an immune response to COVID-19 as set out under the recommendation of the Government of Canada (as amended from time to time).

The vaccine policy is in addition to HFHE’s current COVID-19 measures such as:

  1. ReStore capacity is limited to 1/3 of the occupancy set under the Alberta Fire Code.
  2. Mandatory Masking and maintaining 6 feet physical distancing at all sites.
  3. Vigilant cleaning and disinfection protocols including the use of hand sanitizers; as well as plexi-glass installed at the cash registers and reception.
  • Employees and volunteers answering YES to any of the questions in the daily checklist will be instructed by Alberta Health to be tested for COVID-19. In the absence of testing, a 10 day isolation is required.
