We are actively recruiting groups for the following projects. Please contact a volunteer coordinator if you would like to set up a group.

A Special Project for the Building Trades of Alberta: Union Built Home


The project is a small bungalow located in South Edmonton. Volunteers are recruited through the building trades unions affiliated with the Building Trades of Alberta. We are now booking 6-10 volunteers per day. Both groups and individuals are welcome. There is no minimum number of shifts required. If you are a member of one of the trades unions and would like to volunteer, please contact Louise at lfairley@hfh.org or 780-451-3416 ext 222.

This build is open to all members of unions affiliated with the Building Trades of Alberta: Local 146, Local 1, Local 222, Local 47, Local 122, Local 424, Local 955, Local 488, Local 92, Local 110, Local 177, Local 362, Local 1325, Local 1460, Local 8.

*Please note that this build is non-jurisdictional (i.e. an electrician who can also install drywall is welcome to help in either capacity).


Volunteer Information Sessions

We host one-hour Volunteer Information Sessions on the second Saturday of every month. These sessions are not mandatory, but they are a great opportunity to learn about our program. Come out to meet staff and have your questions answered. You can sign up through our self-scheduling system or, if you have not registered for self-scheduling, contact Shefali Khoja at 780.451.3416 ext 234 or skhoja@hfh.org.
